What the 6-Year MBBS Programme Actually Covers

The same core structure across every partner university, taught fully in English.

  1. Step 1

    Year 1 — Foundation Sciences

Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry — building the foundation every clinical subject relies on later.

  2. Step 2

    Year 2 — Para-Clinical Sciences

Pharmacology, Pathology, Microbiology and Forensic Medicine, alongside your first patient-facing clinical postings.

  3. Step 3

    Year 3 — Clinical Foundations

Medicine, Surgery, Community Medicine and Obstetrics & Gynaecology begin, with structured hospital ward rotations.

  4. Step 4

Year 4 — Advanced Clinical Rotations

Deeper rotations across Medicine, Surgery and allied specialities, with increasing hands-on responsibility under supervision.

  5. Step 5

Year 5 — Specialised Clinical Training

Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Psychiatry and other specialities, alongside exam-oriented case discussions.

  6. Step 6

Year 6 — Compulsory Rotating Internship

A full year of supervised, hands-on practice across all major departments at your university's teaching hospital.

  7. Step 7

    FMGE / NEXT & Licensing

Prepare for and sit India's licensing screening exam before registering with the Indian Medical Register to practise.
